The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has officially announced the return of the Maha Songkran World Water Festival 2025, set to take place from April 11–15, 2025 at Sanam Luang, Bangkok. This year’s theme, “Cool & Joyful Maha Songkran”, promises five days of vibrant celebrations combining Thai traditions with modern entertainment.
The event aims to mark the Thai New Year with a grand festival while preserving the cultural significance of Songkran. Locals and tourists alike can expect large-scale parades, concerts, and traditional activities throughout the week.

Eight Grand Songkran Parades
On April 12–13, visitors can witness eight cultural parades along Ratchadamnoen Klang Road, each representing different regions of Thailand. The colorful processions will showcase traditional Thai costumes, music, and dance, celebrating the country’s diverse heritage.
